The origin of this temple is traced back to 250 years when the Goddess Tara was brought to Himachal Pradesh from West Bengal.
One fine day, the Maharaja had a vision of Tara along with Hanuman and he donated a huge piece of his land to build the temple. The temple consisted of a wooden idol of the deity, but after some years, the temple was shifted to the top of the hill known as Tara Parvat.
The magnificent idol is was made of ‘Ashtadhatu’, a rare combination of 8 elements. Surrounded by a mesmerizing view of the lofty mountains, pine forests, and lush greenery, the tranquil setting of the temple makes you forget everything about your day-to-day worries of life.
