1. Ashwatthama
7 Chiranjivi: Ashwatthama was the son of Guru Dronacharya and Kripi. He fought on the side of the Kauravas in the war of Mahabharata. At the end of the Mahabharata, when the Pandavas won, in a fit of anger and vengeance, Ashwatthama killed the five sons of the Pandavas, whom he considered Pandavas. After this, Lord Krishna cursed him that he would remain immortal and would always suffer the pain of the wound on his forehead while reaping the fruits of his deeds. It is said that he still roams the earth and is suffering the punishment for his deeds.
2. King Bali
King Bali belonged to a demon dynasty but he was great in religion and devotion. Impressed by his devotion and generosity, Lord Vishnu took the form of Vaman and asked him for a donation of three steps of land. Lord Vaman measured the entire universe in three steps and Bali also donated his life. Pleased with his devotion and penance, Lord Vishnu gave him the boon of immortality and made him the king of Patal Lok. It is believed that he still lives in Patal Lok and is engaged in following his religion.
3. Ved Vyas
Maharishi Ved Vyas is considered to be a great sage and the author of Mahabharata. He compiled the Vedas and composed an epic like Mahabharata. It is believed that Ved Vyas ji did great work for the welfare of human society, due to which he got the boon of immortality. It is said that he is still engaged in meditation in a cave in the Himalayas and from time to time also gives his darshan on special occasions.
4. Hanuman
7 Chiranjivi: Hanuman ji is considered to be the incarnation of Lord Shiva and is an ardent devotee of Lord Rama. He played an important role in the conquest of Lanka while living with Lord Rama. Seeing his devotion towards Lord Rama, Shri Ram gave him the boon of immortality. It is believed that Hanuman ji is still on this earth and protects his devotees everywhere. During the recitation of Ramayana and Hanuman Chalisa, it is said that wherever the name of Ram is taken, Hanuman ji is definitely present there.
5. Vibhishana
Vibhishana was the brother of Ravana, the king of Lanka. Opposing the unrighteousness and arrogance of Ravana, Vibhishana supported Lord Rama and helped him in the conquest of Lanka. Seeing his dedication to the protection of truth, religion and justice, Lord Rama gave him the boon of immortality. Vibhishana is still considered as the king of Lanka and is engaged in protecting his subjects.
6. Kripacharya
7 Chiranjivi: Kripacharya was a great guru of the Mahabharata period and he was also the teacher of the Kauravas and Pandavas. He had a deep understanding of knowledge and valor. After the war when he supported the policies of Mahakaal Yudhishthira, he was blessed with immortality. It is believed that he is still alive and currently imparts knowledge and teachings on special occasions.
7. Parashurama
Parashurama is considered to be the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He was a confluence of Brahmin and Kshatriya qualities and destroyed Kshatriyas on earth many times for the destruction of Adharma. Being a disciple of Lord Shiva, he was blessed with immortality. Parashurama ji is considered immortal and it is also believed that he will guide Lord Vishnu’s last incarnation, Kalki, at the end of Kali Yuga.
