Facebook WhatsApp Instagram outage: WhatsApp and Instagram confirmed that the global outage that affected the social media giants was resolved through.
Meta-owned apps Instagram, Threads and WhatsApp are now back online for users after a global outage on Wednesday. “Thanks for bearing with us! We’re 99% of the way there – just doing some last checks. We apologize to those who’ve been affected by the outage,” Meta, which owns the apps, said on X.
We’re aware of some issues accessing WhatsApp. We’re actively working on a solution and starting to see a return to normal for most people. We expect things to be back to normal shortly.

WhatsApp and Instagram also confirmed the outage being resolved through separate announcements. “And we’re back, happy chatting!” WhatsApp said on X. “Andddd we’re back – sorry for the wait, and thanks for bearing with us,” Instagram said.
Facebook has yet to confirm whether all its glitches have been resolved, BBC said in a report. However, the social media platform worked for most Indian users on Thursday morning.
Meta apps were down for users across UK, US, Europe, Asia, Australia and South America. The outage was reported by Indian users around 11:00 PM on Wednesday. While some users were unable to refresh their feeds, the applications froze for some others. When some users opened Facebook, they were shown a message reading “We’re working on getting this fixed as soon as we can.”
On Wednesday, Meta confirmed that it was aware of a “technical issue” that was “impacting some users’ ability to access our apps.” The outages started around 18:00 GMT on Wednesday, according to Downdetector.

Confirmed with OpenAI’s chatbot ChatGPT. Due to the global outage, users across the world were unable to access ChatGPT. We’re experiencing an outage right now. We have identified the issue and are working to roll out a fix. Sorry and we’ll keep you updated,” OpenAI tweeted on Thursday morning.
