Mahakumbh Mela 2025 Live: Global Pilgrims Turn Sangam Into Confluence Of Faith, Humanity

Mahakumbh Mela 2025 Live: Held once every 12 years, the Maha Kumbh is a rare occurrence, set apart by specific planetary alignments that add to its religious significance.

Mahakumbh Mela 2025 Live: The highly anticipated Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 officially commenced today at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, marking the beginning of a 45-day-long spiritual journey that draws millions of devotees from across the world. This grand event will continue until February 26, with devotees coming to bathe in the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers to purify their sins and seek spiritual salvation.

On the occasion of Paush Purnima, the official start of the Maha Kumbh, thousands of devotees from the wee hours this morning gathered to take their holy dip, chanting sacred hymns and prayers. The sacred waters of the Triveni Sangam symbolise purity and spiritual elevation, making this ritual central to the experience for millions of attendees.

Held once every 12 years, the Maha Kumbh is a rare occurrence, set apart by specific planetary alignments that add to its religious significance. Unlike the Kumbh Mela, which rotates across four cities – Haridwar, Ujjain, Nashik, and Prayagraj – the Maha Kumbh is exclusive to Prayagraj and holds profound importance in Hindu mythology. The event draws upon the ancient legend of gods and demons fighting over a pitcher containing the elixir of immortality. During the battle, four drops of this nectar fell at the sacred sites of Prayagraj, Nashik, Haridwar, and Ujjain, where the Kumbh is celebrated.

The Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 will continue until February 26, with heightened security and infrastructure enhancements ensuring a safer and more seamless experience for the millions of devotees expected to participate in the sacred rituals.
